Students were tasked to play with the size and scale of a selected household object and cover the final sculpture with one material of our choice. I chose to recreate a Master Lock, which measures 3 inches when the lock shackle is extended. The completed lock measures 3 feet tall, 12x the original lock size. At the end, I used hot glue to apply hundreds of bottle caps and lids to the surface of the sculpture, resulting in the colorful rainbow of a lock that you see here.
